(The Daily News) Here is This Day in History for June 30. In 1934, Adolf Hitler began killing political and military rivals. In 1906, President Rosevelt signed the Meat Inspection Act. In 1971, three astronauts from Russia were found dead in their spacecraft when it returned to Earth. In 1936, the book Gone with the Wind was published. And in 1994, Tonya Harding is punished with a lifetime banishment for her role in the attack against rival Nancy Kerrigan.
