(The Daily News) June 22 is rich in history, including France falling to Germany and Germany attacking the Soviet Union a year later. It also signifies the taking of Okinawa Island by U.S. forces during World War II. In 1969, Judy Garland died of an accidental overdose of sleeping pills.
