Texting Champion Wins $50,000

(The Daily News) Usually people who can text fast rack up huge charges on their phone bill. Not Kate Moore. She just won $50,000 in the third annual LG U.S. National Texting Champion for being the fastest mobile phone text messager in the United States. The win came after a two-day marathon in New York City amongst 22 contestants who had won regional texting events to reach the finals. After winning the competition, Moore said, "Let your kid text during dinner!" (really, she did)
