U.S. Marines Capture Afghan District

(The Daily News) The U.S. Marines, in a major Afghanistan offensive, have captured an Afghan district that was a stronghold of the Taliban. The operation included 4,000 marines with one killed and many others wounded. Many Taliban are believed to have fled the scene as the United States and Afghanistan government seek to weaken the Taliban.
